Due to increased work and personal commitments Darlaston player/manager Mark Swann has stepped down after nearly 3 seasons in charge. Following the re forming of the club in 2013 Swann was appointed in June 2014 when the club joined West Midlands Regional League Division Two. After finishing 3rd in their first season the club were promoted to Division One finishing last season in 5th spot and currently occupy 7th position

Swann said " This was an extremely difficult decision for me. I am having an operation on my foot shortly and will miss the rest of the playing season and with my other commitments l believe the time is right to step down, I will though continue to help the club in anyway that I can. l have enjoyed my time at the club and we have enjoyed some very good times making great progress on and off the field. Off the field the club has gone from strength to strength and the facilities are excellent. I have received fantastic support from the players, committee and supporters and will watch the progress of the club with great interest".

Club Chairman Neil Chambers said " I am really disappointed that "Swanny" has decided to step down. He has been with us since day one and has been absolutely magnificent, he has been a Chairman's dream. It is a testament to the quality of the man that he has agreed to help out his successor."
