Three second half unanswered goals for Darlaston secure three points at the Paycare Ground

Darlaston Town returned to their Paycare Ground for a local derby against near neighbours and friend Bilston Town

After last weeks poor performance at AFC Bridgnorth Darlaston’s management team made four changes in came midfielders Luke Charlton and Lucas Hough along with forwards Romano Graham and Daniel Bolzon for his first start this season. Making way were the unavailable Reis Nadat, Jamie Holder Zico Agyemang and TJ Davies stepped down to the bench where they were joined by new signing from FC Darlaston Adam Cole and Noah Diallo

Both clubs before the game paid respects to Marina Heseltine the late wife of Non-League super fan Frank Heseltine. Both teams and the officials were led out by Frank along with the chairpersons of both clubs. The minuets silence was immaculately respected by everyone within the ground

Both started teams started the game at a frantic pace Darlaston having the best of the play creating numerous chances which all forwards were guilty of wasting. Bilston gave ball away way to cheaply allowing Darlaston to ply the ball around and out in the large spaces out wide at every opportunity.

As the first half war on Bilston gained more of a foothold in the midfield areas and looked threatening prompted by John Dodd and Yannick Gomes in midfield assisted by the busy front two of Sam Melia and Kevin Nickle

Bilston were unlucky not to go into half-time ahead as with virtually the last kick of the half a Melia shot smacked into Darlaston’s right upright with Whittaker well beaten.

Would Darlaston pay for the second week running after missing a host of chances early in the first half as they at Bridgnorth

Bilston came out started the second half with more purpose Darlaston needed to be more clinical and take their chances.

Darlaston’s first came after 56 minutes and it was a great solo goal. Darlo’s Italian import picked up a loose ball in the final third beating at least two to visiting defenders to slot the ball past Bilston keeper to give the home side a deserved lead.

After the goal you could see Bilston’s young sides heads drop young team heads drop. The home side doubled their lead after 66 minutes Ryan Jones pass enabled Leon Taylor to get in behind Bilston’s defence, Taylor rounded the keeper to pass the ball into the net.

Taylor wasn’t finished there his second came on 71 minutes following a defence splitting pass from Lucas Hough, Taylor to turned and beat his man as well as Bilston's keeper, allowing him to finish from his trademark 2 yards into an empty net.

Darlaston not happy with a 3-0 lead and pressed for more goals but unfortunately all their play filtered out in the final third with poor decision making Bilston could not create any major threat in the final minutes of the game allowing Darlaston to win the Black Country derby and send their opponents back down the Black Country route pointless
