Dean Gill's squad will be looking to add another win to their outstanding 14 game unbeaten League run.

Tomorrow on Non-League Day Darlaston Town will welcome ninth-placed Heath Hayes to the Paycare Stadium for an MFL Division One fixture.

After last week's outstanding 4-0 win against third-place and play-off chasing Stapenhill Darlaston will be looking to continue their long unbeaten run dating back to November last year and consolidate their second place in the League behind long-term pace setters and Champion’s elect Atherstone Town.

Darlaston and Heath Hayes last met in the middle of February at Heath Hayes Coppice Colliery Ground, the game ended in a 1-1 draw Harvey Dangerfield scoring for Darlaston in the first half a Matthew Hardiman free-kick equalising for the home side deep in the second half.

Since that fixture Heath Hayes have played four league fixtures beating Cradley Town 4-1 at the Beaches, a brace from forward Nicholas Wellecomme along with goals from Connor Ryan and Matthew Hardiman completed the scoring. A second consecutive away trip this time to promotion chasing Dudley Town saw Wellecomme along with Jordan Dodd and Will Whieldon securing a great 3-0 win.

Two home games followed a 2-0 win against bottom club Dudley Sports Wellecomme and Phillips scoring the goals. The win put Heath Hayes top of the form table with five wins and the draw against Darlaston.

In their last home game on Wednesday evening saw them lose their first game in two months when Nuneaton Griff travelled to the Coppice Colliery Ground and they won 1-0, Heath Hayes finished the game with 10 men after Matthew Hardiman was sent off for two yellow cards, but he will be available for tomorrow’s fixture. The loss ironically moved Darlaston up to the top of the form table with 4 wins and 2 draws in their last six games, with Heath Hayes dropping to third.

Nicholas Wellecomme is Heath Hayes dangerman having scored 15 goals in 28 games, followed by Matthew Hardiman 9 in 20 games and Connor Ryan with 4 goals in 18 games.

Darlaston meanwhile enters the fixture in outstanding form with two big wins in their recent games a 2-0 win at 5th place Ashby Ivanhoe ending their long unbeaten run, followed by last week’s 4-0 win over third-placed Stapenhill which opened a 3-point gap over Darlaston’s nearest challengers, the win also reserved Darlaston a place in the end of season playoff’s. The two clean sheets against their playoff chasing rivals were the first time both Ashby and Stapenhill had failed to score in any fixture so far this season.

With the transfer deadline now passed and no additions to the squad manager Dean Gill now knows what his squad will be now for the remainder of the season without any distractions of 7 day approaches for in-form players. The squad trained twice this week, Monday evening saw them visit a local boxing gym for a change of scenery and training methods. As always, the squad are looking forward to game day, tomorrow will provide Dean Gill with his usual headache as he has a fully fit squad to select from.

A large crowd is expected at the Paycare Stadium tomorrow on Non-League Day. Darlaston has for the first time reduced their admission prices for Villa, Blues, Walsall, and Albion season ticket holders £2 reduction for adults, and a £1 deduction for concessions if season tickets are shown at the gate.

The usual admission charge of £5 for adults £3.00 for concessions and children under 10 will apply as normal. The gates will open at 1:00 pm along with the bar which will be serving its usual now a very popular pre-match fayre including hot food as well as the now famous “World’s Best Cobs”

So why not come to the Paycare Stadium to experience the warm Darlaston welcome and see an honest game of non-league football between two sides who play the game in the right way.
