Darlaston's Manager Dean Gill talks gives his Sunday thoughts on life in the MFL Premier Division

After winning their opening two league games, Dean manages expectation and discusses minimum requirements for the season

I’m over the moon to win our first game at home in the Midland Football League Premier Division.

In the Midland Football League Division One, or the West Midlands Premier Division, I probably knew 95% of the players, mangers etc. and felt I very comfortable that I had gained enough information and knowledge to say I pretty much knew there all there was to know. It’s now the complete opposite where I know only 5% of the players, managers etc. It’s going to take me I would imagine around.18 months to get to grips and understand things in the detail I want to, we’re doing all we realistically can to catch up that knowledge as quick as we can to shorten that time.

It’s very easy for supporters of any team to say we lost today because we were poor and give very little credit to the team that beat them. Yesterday’s result was 100% about Darlaston, how we prepared and executed our plan, and nothing to do with Worcester underperforming, in my view that is.

I think we still need 12 more wins to avoid relegation and we fully understand our place in a very competitive League, nobody at the club will get carried away with a couple of good performances and results, and we will continue to work hard to find our feet and keep on improving.
