Dean's Midweek Review - I’m not going to fall into “Mr Cliche” football manager talk and start spouting BS excuses

"We wanted to prove to ourselves we deserved to be on the same pitch as them and that’s what we did"

I’m not going to fall into “Mr Cliché” football manager talk and start spouting BS excuses - the absolute truth is my lads, staff, supporters and committee are absolutely gutted and last light will take some getting over and so it should, and I’m fine with that.

None of us at Darlaston want the alternative, which is we get slapped 4 5 or 6 and never be in the tie, we wanted to be in the tie, we wanted to prove to ourselves we deserved to be on the same pitch as them and that’s what we did. If proving that hurts then it’s worth the pain, we must embrace the pain and use it as fuel for today, one thing for sure is tomorrow is a positive prospect with these boys and that’s far more valuable than any one off win.

Credit to Harborough, they kept going when in reality we’d had the better of 165 minutes of the 180 over both games, they looked after us extremely well last Saturday and were very magnanimous in victory and I wish them well for the future.

We have another incredible game on Saturday against high flying Cleethorpes Town.

Hopefully, we can get a big gate to witness our first ever Isuzu FA Trophy tie.

Thank you again for the support., have a great week and we hope to see you all again on Saturday.

UTD

Dean.
