I’ve always preferred a win and two draws from 3 games, collecting 5 points rather than two wins and a loss and collecting 6 points, I’ve always cherished being undefeated over points as I’ve always believed teams who lose fewest are the stronger units and will ultimately end up in and around it come April.
This week is different and yesterday was the first time I’ve been disappointed in the group all season, having led 3-0, 2-0 and 1-0 at HT in the 3 games I’m disappointed we’ve not learned lessons quick enough and prepared well enough to take more points and it’s rare I can say that - anyone who follows us knows I’m our boys biggest supporter and admirer but unfortunately this week we met football karma full on - to achieve new levels of success you have to go down holes you’ve not been before however once you’re there you can’t get out until they are cured, yesterday I put everyone on full notice that some of the finer things I asked for this week will happen from this day forward.
Ironically, we’ve gained points on teams around us this week but that doesn’t mean a thing to me if we’re not doing enough, but once the dust settles on a busy week and I stop growling I’m sure we’re still in a positive position.
I really respect what Lye did yesterday and credit to them and I hope they survive relegation this season, they have some very good people there all pushing hard and that’s good to see as a local team.
We’ll prepare now for Sutton Coldfield Town on Saturday, this will include a friendly on Wednesday at home against Stourport Swifts.
It’s been a busy couple of months for supporters can I thank you all so very much for your support.
