Nine points the last couple of weeks is a positive return and gives us an eight point buffer from the bottom four.

We’re in and around some vastly experienced clubs at this level, it’s not a moan at all it’s just reflection on the size of the task facing us in our quest not to finish bottom of this league.

I’m very proud of the boys who continue to scrap and fight for everything, we had a few wrapped up yesterday nursing injuries as the first quarter of the season is already taking its toll on our squad.

Credit to Shepshed Dynamo whom I believe gave it all they had and made it a very difficult afternoon, we needed to be patient and take our chances or pay the price for their opening goal which we didn’t defend well.

There was a good atmosphere created by the home supporters, it’s another nuance this season that’s really positive, albeit the insults are still lacking imagination!

Stand outs on the day were Chezza who is now unbelievably consistent, Lewis who is playing his best all round football ever, Rivel who came on, scored with his first touch and ran them ragged the last 30 minutes and Bailey who came on and won a great penalty - he’s such a talent and having to be extremely patient.

We can have a few days rest before we turn our attention to Saturday’s visit from Sutton Coldfield.

Have a great week,

Dean.
