Tomorrow night at the Paycare Stadium is a huge game for the two clubs involved when 5th placed Darlaston Town welcome one of the leagues form teams who have risen to 4th placed in recent weeks Anstey Nomads.
Last season’s runner up have been catching up on fixtures after their FA Cup and FA Trophy exploits earlier in the season which saw them progress to the Third Qualifying Round in the Emirates FA Cup before losing at Rushall Olympic and then making the First Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy when they were beaten by Basford United on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Anstey have been playing twice weekly since early October in an attempt to get up-to-date with fixtures and their last six games have produced four wins one draw and a loss at Sutton Coldfield Town, the draw was at home against Bedworth United. Their wins have been over Loughborough Students, Lye Town, Rugby Town and in the past week Sporting Khalsa and Racing Club Warwick.
Tomorrow promises another huge test for Darlaston‘s young squad who will be playing against last season’s Midlands Division Runners who lost in the play-off final to Harborough Town, Anstey have added to last season’s squad to build a stronger team for this season. So far 14 players have scored in league games this season, top scorer is Jacob Fenton with 11 goals followed by Zayn Hakeem with 10 and ex Alvechurch forward Leo Brown and James Tague both on 9 goals so far this term
Darlaston’s will be going to tomorrow evenings fixture on the back of an outstanding win on Saturday at AFC Rushed & Diamonds on Saturday thanks to Aaron Bishop’s 81st minute winner this after a three week break from league football due to the weather and Walsall Wood folding.
Any midweek game under lights at the Paycare Stadium create a special atmosphere and tomorrow evening should promise no different the club are hopeful of a large home contingent for such an important league game
