Manager Andy Parkes and his squad are looking forward to Saturdays friendly against Warstones Wanderers.
Warstones are well known to the West Bromwich United contingent at the club having played them three times last season, twice in the league losing the first match at Warstones in September but faired very much better in the new year, beating them twice at Hadley Stadium, once in the league and the second match during the cup run, Warstones finished equal 5th in the league last season wining 12 matches, losing 11 and drawing 3 games.
Both clubs have enjoyed a close relationship, hence why this friendly is being played and I know the squad are looking forward to seeing old acquaintances and foes again. Manager Andy said “As soon as we started to plan pre-season, a friendly against Warstones was at the top of list of things to do, we have always enjoyed hard but fair games against them, they also play in a very similar style to ourselves but maybe not as structured as us, which is one of the reasons why they are so unpredictable to play against in a challenging way “. Assistant manager Andy Thomas added “They have some quality players in their squad, some with exceptional touch and technical ability, and others with pace to burn, it will be a hard test for our squad at this stage of pre-season ”.
The match is being played at Monckton Recreation Ground, Pinfold Lane, Penkridge, ST19 5QP, kick off at 3 pm, come and see the new faces in the squad, meet the Manager and his coaching team and spot that player you may wish to sponsor
