Darlaston Town will be looking to secure a place in the Birmingham County FA Midweek Challenge Floodlit Cup Final when they entertain OJM Black Country Rangers at The Paycare Stadium this Wednesday (2 March) kick-off 7.45 pm in the semi-final.

The Midweek Challenge Floodlit Cup is open to all clubs playing at Step 6 of the National League System affiliated to Birmingham County FA.

Both teams are enjoying their inaugural season in Division One of the Midland Football League both currently vying for a playoff spot for promotion to The Midland Football League Premier Division. Darlaston are currently third and OJM Black Country currently lying in 6th spot.

Darlaston have yet to concede a goal in the competition with 3-0 and 1-0 away wins at Dudley Sports and current holders and runaway Midland League Division One league leaders Atherstone Town to reach this stage. OJM recorded a 4-0 home win and a 4-3 away win at Coventry Copsewood to book their semi-final place.

Both clubs have played each other twice so far this season in the league, firstly at the Paycare Stadium in September last year when it ended 1-1. More recently at the beginning of February, both sides played out a thrilling 4-4 draw, and not only was it goal-laden it was also a spicy affair. Recent form suggests that Darlaston should start the game as favorites to reach the final as they are 12 games unbeaten in the league. But huge games such as this have a reputation of ripping up the form book so no one can assume anything especially given the exceptionally two close games this season. This is not one to miss.

Fellow Midland League Division One side Wednesfield FC await the winners in the final after they beat local rivals Dudley Town to secure their final place in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw.

The game is under floodlights at The Paycare Stadium, Bentley Leisure Pavilion, Bentley Road North, Bentley WS2 0EA kick-off 7.45 pm. Admission is £5 Adults, £3 for concessions whilst children under 10 are free. Season tickets will not apply for this game.

The gates and bar will be open from 6.30 pm, a large crowd is expected for such a massive fixture
