Tomorrow at the Paycare Stadium Darlaston Town return to league action, when possibly for the first time Northwich Victoria travel from their Cheshire home. For many years Northwich Victoria have played their football in the North West Counties League but in the summer FA reorganisation they have been moved to The Midlands Football League.
Currently, Northwich are in mid table having played ten league games, won three drawn three and lost four Their last competitive fixture was three weeks ago on 21st October when they exited the Isuzu FA Vase after travelling to Bishop Auckland losing 3-0. The two fixtures they were due to play in the last 7 days fell foul of the weather and were postponed.
In their last three league games which stretches back to the end of September all three games ended in 2-1 results. Firstly, Northwich Victoria lost 2-1 at Atherstone Town and then beat Romulus by the same scoreline and in their last league fixture in mid-October Northwich travelled to Stourport Swifts losing by 2-1.
Players to look out for tomorrow are top scorer Connor Unwin with six goals in twelve starts, followed by Marcus Perry with four in ten starts. The remainder of their nineteen goals scored so far this season have been shared around the squad.
Darlaston meanwhile will have to pick themselves up after another cup loss on penalties on Wednesday evening to Stone Old Alleynians and look to be carrying some injuries to key players which will more than likely require late fitness tests, so selection may be a headache for manager Dean Gill.
