Darlaston return to the Paycare Stadium tomorrow afternoon for a big Northern Premier League Midlands Division game, against in form Sutton Coldfield Town.

Sutton Coldfield’s draw in mid-week took them above Darlaston into 5th place, the clubs are separated by a single point, Darlaston moving down to 7th. Sutton Coldfield however do have a game in hand.

This season so far Sutton have played ten league games, won five, drawn four and lost one, with a goal difference of +2.

Tomorrow’s opponents recent form has been exceptional and go into the game on a nine game unbeaten and in their last six league games they have secured 14 points winning four and drawing two, whereas Darlaston have 10 points in their last six games winning three, losing two and drawing one.

Sutton Coldfield Town have only lost one game this season, which was on the opening day of the league season on 10th August 2024, they lost 5-1 at Quorn. Since that loss Sutton Coldfield Town’s Management Team lead by manager Cameron Stuart must have worked hard after suffering that setback to remain unbeaten in the league since then. In the league the Royals away record is very good, winning one, drawing two and the loss at Quarn is a very respectful return.

In October Sutton Coldfield have beaten Loughborough Students at home 2-1, Worcester City at Clanes Lane, Worcester 2-1, followed by last Saturday a 2-1 win at home over bottom club Hinckley LR and in midweek a 0-0 draw against Bedworth United once again at Coles Lane.

Danger men for Sutton Coldfield are forward Owen Parry who has scored nine goals, followed by Cory Burke on three and three players have scored two goals each, Cameron Collins, Charlie Dowd and Ryan Edmonds.

Tomorrow’s fixture is a big game for both clubs with three really important points on offer. Both clubs will be looking to capitalise on great recent form and will want to secure the win, given recent form despite Darlaston being the home club, they will start as underdogs.

After last weeks 3-1 win at Shepshed Dynamo, Darlaston Town have had a good week adding ex-Solihull Moore’s first team squad member Leo Wood to the squad, Aaron Bishop will return from suspension, but as always manager Dean Gill will face a selection headache with several players carrying injuries and suffering illness, but the recent additions to the squad over the past couple of weeks should ease the situation.

As usual gates open at 1.00 p.m. along with the bar which will be serving its usual pre-match hot and cold food.
