After a run of home games, Darlaston return to traveling on the M6 tomorrow when they travel to Coleshill Town for a Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division fixture.
Coleshill Town so far this season have played five league games, won and lost two games each and drawn one and were beaten, like Darlaston, in the last round of the Emirates FA Cup, but last weekend Coleshill beat Grantham Town 2-0 in the Isuzu FA Trophy last Saturday to set up a home tie against Carlton Town in the second Round Qualifying
In the league however, the first league game of the season they beat Loughborough Students 2-1 at their Pack Meadow Ground with second-half goals from Josh Hesson and Ben Billingham. The following mid-week they suffered their first loss of the season 1-0 at newly promoted Racing Club Warwick. They soon returned to winning ways with a close fought 3-2 win at home against Long Eaton United with a Ben Billingham brace and Sam Fitzgerald adding the third. Long Eaton scored late in the game to put the home side under pressure as the visitors tried to secure a point.
Over August Bank Holiday weekend, Coleshill were well beaten at Walsall Wood 4-1, Joss Hesson scoring the consolation goal followed by on Bank Holiday Monday their last league game Coleshill welcomed Sutton Coldfield Town to Pack Meadow for a big local derby which ended 0-0.
Coleshill Town are under new management this season. Grant Joshua and his management team have moved from Lye Town to Coleshill bringing with them a large number of Lye’s successful squad of last season that finished seventh in the league
Darlaston meanwhile, following Wednesday evenings win against Grantham Town at the Paycare Stadium have rested well. Several players are carrying injuries and knocks and there are also availability issues and manager Dean Gill and his management team will look to juggle their squad to ensure they have the best selection available along with the fittest players for tomorrow’s game on a 3G surface.
