Darlaston suffer a second consecutive loss against top five opposition.

Darlaston suffer a second consecutive loss against top five opposition.

Simon Cox2 Apr - 09:57

A long Tuesday night trip into Leicestershire saw The Citizens return home empty handed despite their best endeavours.

Manager Dean Gill made a couple of changes to the starting line-up for last night’s important game against Anstey Nomads. Two first half goals were enough to win the fixture for Anstey which has now opened up a 9 point gap on Darlaston, all extinguished their hopes of making the play-offs.

Irrespective of that, everyone should be hugely proud of their efforts this season, the goal was top finish 18th and avoid relegation. But thanks to all the hard work and herculean effort from the players and management to finish in the top half of he league is a brilliant result, then of course there is the matter of a cup final in early April.

Two handed Button Oak Photography covered the game, despite issues with the poor floodlights they have managed to get an album out which is available on the club’s website, click Anstey Nomads - Away for access.

Darlaston now have a break of 10 days, their next game a week on Saturday 12 April is at the Paycare Stadium against Coventry Sphinx kick off 3pm
